Reviewed past Carrie Spellman for TeensReadToo.comIt's five days earlier graduation and Ashley's perfect life is crumbling. Her mother is being accused of embezzling a one thousand thousand dollars, and has disappeared. Ashley can't believe her mother would do something like that, much less disappear and leave her with the autumn-out. Although it'south starting to look similar it all might exist true. One by i the things Ashley counted on and took for granted are falling abroad. There's no manner she can afford the senior trip to Hawaii. Her perfect beau won't even admit her. Gone are her plans to go to college in Boston with her best friend. Not to mention the bills, but those tin can wait for her mom to come up back. Except it's getting pretty obvious that she'south not coming back.
Of a sudden Ashley, who's always just gotten what she asked for, has to fend for herself. It's a hard crash class in reality. There's no way she tin can afford to go on the house, even after she has a 1000 sale to sell off its contents. She needs a chore, merely it's hard to notice a task with no work experience. It's impossible to find a place to live without income. The only people who tin help are her mother's ex-boyfriend, who doesn't like her, her mother'southward best friend, who thinks she'southward a spoiled brat, and the cop who's investigating her mom. Everyone seems to exist waiting for her to fail.
Ashley finds herself living in a camper behind a gas station., without estrus or running water. She falls into a job at Mad Malcom's, an off-beat coffee store where the clientele is as nutty as the owner. In her wildest dreams she could never imagine her life getting this off runway. The question is, can she pull herself out of where she`s ended up? And, what really happened to her mother?
On the manner through she learns a few things about real friends, unsafe people, and personal forcefulness.
MY LOST AND FOUND LIFE is then well-written that Ashley seems like a existent person. It's written similar an autobiography, and I almost forgot that it wasn't a truthful story. Especially since it could be--things similar this actually happen to people. Information technology is a skilful reminder that you don't always know what people accept been through. Also equally a reminder that yous might be surprised at what you can practise when yous run out of options.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading My Lost and Found Life by Melodie Bowsher. I really enjoyed seeing how the primary character, Ashley, grew upwards and I admired her for never giving up and making the best out of the worst situations. Throughout the volume, Ashley meets a lot of people and she learns from all of them. for instance, she makes a friend who loves to political party and she learns how to forget her troubles and move on with life.In this volume, Ashley'south mother embezzles a million dollars and then runs away, leaving Ashley, a teenager fresh out of high school, with no job, to fend for herself. Ashley, who has always been used to having everything she wants is forced to sell everything she owns, move out of her house, and get a job. By the end of the book, Ashley has gotten a job, learned how to take intendance of herself, found somewhere to live, and fifty-fifty saved plenty money to get-go taking some college classes.
I enjoyed reading this coming of historic period book because when the master grapheme, Ashley, is struggling, she finds a way to manage, therefore letting the reader empathise with her. Even though anybody in her life doubts her, Ashley prevails and starts a new life for herself.

In that location is many reasons I gave this volume five stars. I example is when reading the realistic fiction book, I really liked the overall scenario. I thought information technology was actually interesting how the writer started the volume and added certain events throughout. For instance is on page 35, the night before Ashley'southward mom had left ,the two of them had an argument! Multiple things started to get wrong from that point forward. Then on folio 50 Ashley was having a rough time paying the bills and keeping friends when the FBI started their investigation also. After making connections, the FBI and Ashley start to piece it all together. During this time, Ashley is forced to get a job at a java shop where she begins to confront new problems and interactions with people. Some other reason I gave this book five stars is because it'south and so well-written that Ashley seems like a real person. It's written like an autobiography, and I almost forgot that information technology wasn't a true story. Particularly since it could exist--things similar this actually happen to people. 1 of my favorite parts of the volume was that I was able to meet the situation through Ashley'due south eyes. It really made me able to realize what was going on and the tragedy of it all! When the FBI get-go knocked on Ashley'south door, I could really tell how she felt about the state of affairs and feel her frustration. While reading this book, I felt every bit if Bowsher really made it period well and always had something going on. She expressed the tragic mood well. It is a good reminder that you don't e'er know what people have been through. Also equally a reminder that y'all might be surprised at what you can practice when y'all run out of options.
The book "My lost and found life" by Melodie Bows was very eye opening. On the manner through Ashley learns a few things nearly real friends, dangerous people, and personal strength. I really enjoyed this book because it fabricated me realize what a great life I practice have when compared to others, and y'all don't always know what you have until information technology's gone. Most people go through life expecting a lot of things, but when you lot have nothing, y'all appreciate everything much more. Overall information technology was a not bad book that teenagers can relate too. ...more than

Melodie Bowsher'south purpose for writing this volume was to bear witness a mother-girl relationship take a plow and change a spoiled girl'southward outlook on life. Ashley was a high school student that had everything y'all could ever imagine: popularity, a cute fellow, and all the expensive clothes that were in style. A few days before graduation and their senior grade trip to Hawaii, Ashley's mother went missing. No i knows where she went or why she left, but her disappearance was linked to an embezzlement of her visitor's money. Ashley had to acquire the difficult fashion about funding everything on her own. Today, teens are raised to experience like they accept a sense of entitlement, notwithstanding this book's betoken is to show you aren't entitled to anything: y'all take to work for what you want.
The greatest forcefulness of this volume is the fact that it shows growth within a character. The whole San Francisco knew almost the spoiled girl with a mother that steals coin from her task and runs away; leaving her daughter alone. Everyone doubted Ashley's ability to survive on her ain and brand something of herself. Instead of proving them right, Ashley made some unpredictable changes by living in an one-time camper behind the gas station for months, and working inside a Madhouse coffee store with people that seemed abnormal to her. The greatest weakness must have been the writer's way of building suspense. While reading, you desire her to get to the point and say what's going on: but she doesn't do that right abroad.
The all-time books go out you wanting more, which yous can simply get by standing to read. I would recommend this book to my girlfriends as a mode of entertainment or even a reality check to permit them know they should never accept reward of their mother. Once you lose everything, there'due south no getting that back. You have to work towards something new. This book has many inspirational quotes within it, one being "feel is always the all-time teacher" (Bowsher 251). I would tell someone to read this volume to just read about Ashley'south story.
While reading My Lost and Institute Life, I was able to relate to Ashley over whatsoever other graphic symbol. I'm the girl that loves fashion and is known around schoolhouse. I saw this equally an heart opener because I realize how much my mother sacrifices for me and I wouldn't have as much strength to go about life as Ashley did. This impacts a teenage audience and leaves a lasting value as we learn to stop our selfish ways and capeesh what nosotros have today, because it can be gone tomorrow. Ashley sounds like she has grown as she admits she "wouldn't call information technology courage, I just didn't accept whatever option. It was sink or swim after my mother disappeared" (Bowsher 285). When her friends left her later on they heard about her story, Ashley got attention from the outcasts in schoolhouse, including a daughter that strips, parties, and takes drugs for a living. She could've followed that path, but Ashley establish other ways to stay alive and live a life her mother would be proud of. That'due south what touched me the most because she continuously thought about what her mom would want her to do in order to brand her proud of who she's becoming.

If you lot outset reading this book and want to throw it confronting the wall, don't. It's the worth the entire read.
Excellent job
Well. It's like this. I read four or 5 or vi pages and thought, "well, there is no way in hell I am finishing this." The "heroine" is and so self-absorbed, and so supercilious that I cannot bide reading another paragraph. But I did. And, it was worth it.Ashley changes from a very cocky-absorbed teenager into a survivor, and not only a survivor, but into a total, caring private.

I identify with a life lost and found, and then it resonated with me. Really it's the story of a girl coping with life when everything she's ever known has been taken from her. It's her coming of historic period story, and it's pretty cool.

This book teaches you that information technology takes more than and so one person to practise the chore. It too teaches you that yous should go along an eye on the oeople you come across because they might just turn on you.
I didn't expect to similar My Lost and Found Life as much as I did. I was engrossed in Ashley's story and couldn't stop reading as I wanted to know what would happen next. The catastrophe was satisfying even though in that location weren't whatever easy or pat answers. I idea Ashley was admirable and lucky, which the writer, Melodie Bowsher, showed in the story. In the stop, it'due south all about choices--the ones you make and the ones that other people make.
